Helping rebuild Alberta communities
posted over 7 years ago by bridgesoflove
In late June Southern Alberta was devastated by unprecedented flooding. Whether rural communities like High River, urban neighbourhoods in Calgary, or the southern Alberta First Nations, thousands of people have been affected.
In a truly Albertan and Canadian manner, the very best of the human spirit has risen as we come together to show our support and rebuild stronger than ever.
Joining forces with business leaders and the Province of Alberta, The Halo High Water Benefit Concert and Telethon on August 4th, featuring some of the biggest names in music, will raise money for The Calgary Foundation's Flood Rebuilding Fund.
The star-studded evening will take place at the Southern Jubilee Auditorium in Calgary. For those unable to join in person, the event will be broadcast on CBC TV and Radio and Aboriginal Peoples Television Network in conjunction with a telethon that will enable all Canadians to donate and support the people and communities impacted by the flooding. CBC Music will also broadcast on-demand video of the full show and individual artist's performances.
