August 19 Update

We are pleased that many of the needs posted on this site have been met. We are still searching, however, for a home for a Bridgleland resident who is looking for a two bedroom townhouse. If you know of any units coming available for Oct. 1, please post or call Marg at 403.263.5683.
Also, a family of five is looking to house-sit for 3 - 6 months until their house in High River is ready for occupancy.
There are still many donations waiting for homes so please pass on our web site address to those flood victims who have needs. We were pleased to have a washer and dryer delivered from Emmanuel Community Church on the week-end to an "Adopt-a-Family" member. We appreciate Craig's very generous donation.
Also, a fridge is being delivered by Sarah to a flood victim in High River. We have already been pleased to provide a car,washer/dryer, dish washer, microwave, small kitchen appliances, clothing, from various donors to Joyce's family of 5.
Highland Mennonite Church is having their Back-to-School event today and tomorrow. I stopped in briefly to see the set-up and they are expecting a full house. 150 back-packs were lined up by age filled with all the necessities for school. The organizer reported that they have more junior and senior high registrations this year than in the past. With school costs escalating, the recipients will be most pleased to receive these practical and necessary items. We are most appreciative to "Just Kidding" children's store in Ft. McMurray for their most generous donation which is part of the Highland Church event. Each child will receive a coupon for either an out-fit or a pair of shoes. Also, tucked in each back pack is a special critter donated by another Alberta Recovers donor, Janet Harris. Thank you everyone for your kind contributions.
This Friday, I will be travelling to Lethbridge to receive a donation from the McGrath Golf Club who is donating to the work of Bridges of Love and our flood assistance program 2013 Alberta Recovers. We are very grateful for their kind and generous support.
