Bridge Over Troubled Water - Bearing Together
posted over 7 years ago by bridgesoflove
"Bridge over Troubled Water - Bearing Together" was a very special time for all. We appreciated Coby Duerr, Assistant Deputy Chief with the Calgary Emergency Management Agency who shared their experiences through the Calgary Floods. Also, we appreciated Joan Crockatt, MP Calgary Centre, and Wayne Cao, MLA Calgary Fort for your kind support. The journey through the recovery and now rebuilding phase is unique for each family and the healing process will take time and commitment from others to keep the care and love flowing. We cannot take it for granted that life is business as usual for those severely affected as it will take years for some to rebuild lives and infrastructure.
Thank you to all those who attended. The stories shared were heart-warming and we know the sacrificial giving was a gift to so many. Thank you Volunteer Feeding Crew for recreating the flood response efforts where you fed thousands with your bag lunches. You arrived with little fanfare but the impact was both practical and greatly appreciated. Our event appreciated the delicious sandwiches prepared by the VFC.
Please continue to post needs and donations on our https://alberta.recovers.org/ web site. RECOVERS generously continue to give us access to this site for the months ahead to allow people who have lost a great deal to accept donations.
Each individual who attended our event took home a little teddy, kindly donated by 3M as a remembrance for the importance of "bearing together." https://www.facebook.com/albertarecovers
